In the glass
Quince, honeycomb, wet stone and bright acidity.
Clos Arden sits on old glacial gravel near Saumur, which gave the wine its name. The Chenin Blanc is picked by hand in several passes and fermented slowly in old barrels. Dry, layered and built to age, but already a pleasure today.
The details
A classic: Chenin and roast chicken, nothing else needed.
